What is L-Arabinose?
L-arabinose is a component of hemicellulose, a structural polysaccharide in plant cell walls. It is found in foods such as corn, wheat, beets, and certain fruits. The sugar can be extracted commercially from plant materials like corn fiber or sugar beet pulp. L-arabinose is a five-carbon aldose with the chemical formula C5H10O5. It is classified as a pentose sugar. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), L-arabinose is approved to be used in the food industry. It has also been evaluated by relevant regulatory authorities like FEMA, ECHACHEM, NIST, and Cosmetic Ingredient Review.

Bulk Arabinose Manufacturers
The arabinose market has been growing rapidly, and manufacturers have been continuously expanding their capacities to meet increasing demand. Currently, the market is dominated by Sigma-Aldrich and some Chinese companies.
Sinofi is a bulk arabinose manufacturer in China, and we have a manufacturing facility with 2,500 square meters for the production of arabinose powder. We supply high-quality L-arabinose at wholesale prices for our clients around the world.
Manufacturing Process of Arabinose
The manufacturing process for arabinose typically involves the following steps:
- Raw material selection: Common sources include corn cobs, sugar beet pulp, or gum arabic.
- Hydrolysis: The raw material is treated with acid or enzymes to break down complex carbohydrates.
- Extraction: L-arabinose is extracted from the hydrolysate.
- Purification: The extract undergoes various purification steps, such as ion exchange chromatography or crystallization.
- Drying: The purified arabinose is dried to obtain the final product.
Bulk Arabinose Suppliers
Arabinose suppliers play crucial roles in ensuring a steady supply of L-arabinose to various food and beverage industries. The top arabinose suppliers like Sigma-Aldrich largely overlap with the major manufacturers, as many companies both produce and distribute allulose. However, some companies like VWR focus more on L-arabinose distribution.
Sinofi is a bulk arabinose supplier in China, and we have a warehouse with 1,200 square meters for food-grade L-arabinose powder. We supply high-quality L-arabinose at wholesale prices to various food and beverage companies.
Supply Chain of Arabinose
The arabinose supply chain involves various players, from raw material suppliers to end-users. It typically involves:
- Raw material suppliers (agriculture sector)
- Arabinose Manufacturers
- Distributors and wholesalers
- End-users (food industry, pharmaceutical companies, research institutions)
The supply chain can be affected by factors such as agricultural yield, demand from various industries, and global economic conditions.
Wholesale and Buy L-Arabinose in Bulk
As demand for L-arabinose increases, wholesalers play a crucial role in supplying this versatile ingredient. Purchasing L-arabinose in bulk quantities allows businesses to reduce costs through economies of scale and to ensure a steady supply for production needs. The wholesale market is expected to expand as research uncovers new applications for arabinose.
As a bulk L-arabinose manufacturer and supplier in China, we not only supply high-quality arabinose powder to large food manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies worldwide. We also wholesale our L-arabinose to small customers and sugar-substitute lovers. Normally, they want to buy L-arabinose powder in small quantities. Arabinose Benefits
L-arabinose offers several benefits, particularly in the context of health and nutrition:
- Low-calorie sweetener: It has about 70% of the sweetness of sucrose but is not metabolized by the body, making it suitable for low-calorie diets.
- Blood sugar management: L-arabinose can inhibit the activity of sucrase, an enzyme that breaks down sucrose, potentially helping to reduce blood sugar spikes after meals.
- Dental health: Unlike sucrose, L-Arabinose is not fermented by oral bacteria, potentially reducing the risk of tooth decay.
- Potential anti-cancer properties: Some studies suggest that L-Arabinose may have anti-tumor effects, though more research is needed in this area.
Arabinose Used in Food
A Fat-Reducing Composition Rich in α-Amylase Inhibitors – Formulation by Weight
The raw materials are Mulberry leaf extract, 0.5 parts; Sugarcane polyphenols, 0.5 parts; Green coffee powder, 0.3 parts; L-Arabinose, 1.4 parts; Galactomannan, 0.5 parts; Oligofructose, 5 parts; White kidney bean extract, 2.5 parts; Seaweed powder, 1 part; Chestnut peel extract, 0.5 parts; and 7.5% Resistant dextrin aqueous solution,1 part.
The preparation method for the above-mentioned fat-reducing composition is as follows:
(1) Take mulberry leaf extract, sugarcane polyphenols, green coffee powder, L-arabinose, galactomannan, and oligofructose, dry mix for 15 minutes, stir at 60 rpm in a granulator, and the cutting speed is 800 rpm to obtain Mixture 1;
(2) Add white kidney bean extract, seaweed powder, chestnut peel extract, and resistant dextrin aqueous solution to mixture 1. The peristaltic pump speed is 30 rpm, the granulator stirring speed is 150 rpm, the cutting speed is 1500 rpm, granulate for 3 min, and obtain Mixture 2.
(3) Perform secondary granulation on Mixture 2, the stirring speed is 150rpm, the cutting speed is 1500rpm, granulate for 3min, discharge, the discharge speed is 300rpm, pass through a 60-mesh sieve, and dry (inlet air volume 7.5Hz, material temperature 38.5℃, outlet air temperature 40.2℃, Negative pressure 0.2Mpa), to obtain the fat-reducing composition.
In conclusion, L-arabinose is a versatile sugar with applications across various industries, particularly in food and pharmaceuticals. Its unique properties and potential health benefits make it an interesting subject for ongoing research and development.
